Half Term Family Fun as first two new rides open at Dreamland Margate
- Laughter and excitement from riders on Soaring Seagulls and Up, Up and Away
- Don’t miss out on your chance to name a new ride!
31st May 2018: Visitors to Dreamland yesterday were in for a treat as two of the nine new rides coming to the park opened for the first time. Family fun rides Up, Up and Away and Soaring Seagulls delighted visitors, causing much laughter and excitement.
Up, Up and Away
Up, Up and Away sees riders take to the air in eight ‘hot-air balloons’. Accommodating adults and children, with a minimum unaccompanied height of 90cm, the ride’s colourful spinning tubs and flashing lights will please even the youngest of visitors.
This family friendly, interactive ride features six colourful, hang glider bikes for the whole family to ride. The more you pedal the higher you go in this fun seaside themed ride.
Once the ride cycle begins, riders are in the driving seat as they swoop and fly their way through the sky. This unique interactive ride is sure to put smiles on the faces of kids of all ages.
Steve Gotkine, Chief Operating Officer at Dreamland comments: “We’re delighted that these new rides have proved such a hit on and we’re looking forward to introducing even more exciting rides over the summer. The new rides will bring a wealth of thrilling experiences to the park adding to the fun festival feel that can be enjoyed everyday through our doors.”
One of the new rides due to open later in the summer is still looking for a name. Dreamland recently launched a competition, which will see a lucky winner name a modern take on the much-loved classic Enterprise ride. It is an open-air thrill experience that transports riders sixty feet through the air at 25 miles per hour. Seating 24 people, two per gondola, the ride will treat visitors to an awe-inspiring experience that transforms from the horizontal to the nearly vertical.
To be in with a chance to name this new ride, entrants need to come up with a name that is:
- Thrilling and bold
- A maximum of three words
- True to the spirit of Dreamland
The competition is open until 11.59pm on Saturday 23rd June. Entries are limited to one per person and judging will take place between Monday 25th June and Friday 29th June, by a panel of judges.
The winning entry will be announced by Wednesday 4th July and invited along to be among the first to experience the ride, along with up to nine friends on its opening weekend of 21st/22nd July.
