Joining us in the Roller Room for a night of live music is none other than psychedelic rock 4-piece, Syd Arthur.
The band has built an enviable reputation in the music industry. Formed out of the forest party rave scene in their home county, and with a hard-won DIY self-sufficiency, they developed a sound and approach miles beyond their foursquare indie peers.
Full of swirling rock with psychedelic textures, guitar-based trance with a funk groove, the band are lauded as ahead-of-the-curve trailblazers, pop-psych adventurers who count as peers Tame Impala, Temples and Toy.
With support from Flamingods, Gang and Richard Norris (Behind the Wizards Sleeve).
Syd Arthur is a band of brothers, in every sense. Formed while at college, the band ran the second stage at the Lounge On The Farm festival for a few years. Not to mention, they’ve hosted a festival in Canterbury last summer (former arts student Liam designs all their sleeves and their stage shows come with bespoke lights and visuals), and has a communally-run business (they have their own studio, Wicker, in southeast London, and their own rehearsal mixing facility, Bramble Hall, on a remote farm in Kent).
Beyond that, the line-up comprises three siblings – Liam, Joel and Josh – and one mate with his own family musical heritage (Raven’s dad is photographer/poet John Bush, his aunt is Kate Bush).
