3 July 2018: Dreamland officially kicks off its summer season on Saturday 21 July with new rides, entertainment for all ages, live outdoor music and much more – a whole summer of fun awaits.
It all starts with the Dreamland Block Party; an all-day festival for young people that will be packed with entertaining activities. See Guinness World Record Holder, Matti Hemmings, in action as he presents a BMX competition, enjoy workshops in music and dance, take part in an interactive marketplace and listen to DJs throughout the day – all included within park entry!
The Dreamland Block Party and new season celebrations continue into the night with acts Big Narstie, Oxide & Neutrino and Jammz taking to the outdoor Scenic Stage from 6-10pm. Tickets for the evening event can be purchased via www.dreamland.co.uk.
Thrilling new rides
Brand new rides open at Dreamland this summer, set to delight thrill-seekers and families alike. Test your courage on the exhilarating Dreamland Drop, a shoot up and drop ride which rotates 360° giving a panoramic view of Margate. Take to the skies on Soaring Seagulls, a family friendly, interactive ride that features six colourful hang glider bikes. Entertainment for all ages
Enjoy the school holidays with something to entertain all ages, from crazy golf to favourite TV characters, magic shows and circus. Every day will be a festival of family fun at Dreamland:
Plonk crazy golf
For a real treat, have a go at Dreamland’s very own crazy golf course brought to the park by Plonk this summer. The entire course is made out of wood, in a nod to the UK’s oldest wooden rollercoaster, the Grade 2* listed Scenic Railway at Dreamland. The Plonk Big Rig will transport you to another world – bringing a Polynesian putting paradise to the British seaside, complete with all the classic Plonk mini golf-stacles you’d expect – ludicrous loop-the-loops, big ball ramps, balancing beams, treacherous ball drops as well as brand new obstacles just for Dreamland! 7 July to 2 September, 11am-6pm, £3 adults, £2.50 children, £9 for a family of five.
For a real touch of magic, become spellbound with Dreamland’s resident magician Thomas ‘Magic Magic’ Wood, as he performs an array of mind-blowing tricks throughout the park. Mondays and Tuesdays, 12pm-4pm from 23 July - 28 August, included in park entry.
Be wowed by Gorilla Circus, a high-octane outdoor show on an impressive circus set up. Combining aerial, high wire, trapeze and other “fly by the sea of your pants” circus spectacles. The shows form part of a programme of circus entertainment taking place throughout the summer, including Circus Wednesdays and Circus School. Saturday 9 June - Sunday 2 September, on days when the park is open. Performances twice daily at 1.30pm & 4.30pm.* *Performances will not take place on 23-24 June, 20-23 July, 26-30 July and 2-6 August.
Hunt & Darton Dog Show
Try out street football with Yo Street Zone, back for its third year running. A professional football skills organisation, that will be teaching and demonstrating ball control, freestyle and panna football through workshops and events. Tuesdays, 12-5pm from 24 July - 28 August, included in park entry.
Animal lovers can also climb aboard the Dreamland Ark where you’ll be able to meet raccoons, reptiles and much more. Expect an educational and fun experience with weird, wonderful and cute animals. Included in park entry.
Amusement park appearances include PAW Patrol, Peppa Pig and Family, the Octonauts,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Teletubbies - sure to keep younger visitors entertained.

A summer of music and film
Spend balmy summer evenings in Dreamland’s unique setting and enjoy live music on the outdoor Scenic Stage. Choose from a fantastic line-up of DJs at the Sunset Sessions, including Trojan Sound System on 4 August and Ana Matronic on 11 August. Soak up a festival experience when Orbital play live on 28 July and drum and bass royalty comes to the park when Roni Size plays on 25 August. The Dreamland Film Club returns to the park in August with a great line-up of outdoor cinema screenings. Visitors will have the chance to watch three films in the iconic setting. The public will decide the first film to be screened on 3 August via a poll on the Dreamland Facebook page, with the option to pick between Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, Tom Hanks classic, Big, and fantasy adventure Legend, starring Tom Cruise. Cast your vote here before 5pm on 11 July.
On 17 August The Jungle Book (2016) will be screened in partnership with Turner Contemporary’s Animals & Us exhibition and on 31 August the box office smash Titanic will be shown to mark the film’s 20th Anniversary.

The Dreamland Variety Show is also sure to be a crowd pleaser this summer and is unlike any other variety show - combining popular culture, nostalgic Saturday night TV gameshows and cabaret to give you the ultimate mix of guilty pleasures and great top-quality performance.
The series of shows kicks off on 27 July and sees an all-female line-up of entertainers perform on the Scenic Stage including comedian Jayde Adams, beat boxer Grace Savage, a DJ set from BBC 6 Music’s Gemma Cairney and a headline set from Sweet Female Attitude. With a tropical theme for fancy dress, there will also be dance troupes, mass karaoke and hula-hoopers.
On 10 August, the event will be organised in partnership with Margate Pride and headlined by Gok Wan, who will DJ at the rainbow-themed second edition of the show. There will also be comedy from Jack Rooke, drag queens, singers, lip-synchers, rainbow stilt walkers, performance art and much more.
The final show will be held on 24 August headlined by none other than Dave Benson Phillips; who will bring a live edition of Get Your Own Back to the park. There will also be DJs - including a set from Amber Butchart, balloon antics with Miss Ballooniverse, performance art, poetry and much, much more – all with a silver and sequin theme! At all Variety Shows, dressing up in keeping with the theme is encouraged, with prizes for the best and worst dressed.
Tickets from £5 + booking fee, from £2.50 + booking fee for Dreamland members. Teatime Special tickets are priced at £25 + booking fee and include a drink voucher, meal voucher, free entry to the park during the day and an unlimited ride wristband.
