Following 2016’s successful revival of the seaside tradition, the event will see the procession of cabs travel along Marine Terrace in Margate as the children swap the city for the seaside. The park will open exclusively to welcome those travelling in the cabs as they get set to enjoy an afternoon of Dreamland’s rides and entertainment.
Dreamland’s visitors will be able to explore the exciting new park and its attractions - including restored vintage rides, as well as taking part in activities throughout the afternoon. There will be good times aplenty in the roller disco and the event will also see a special visit from the park’s bears in residence, Teddy and Betty. The Friendliest Food Court Ever – the all-new dining area at the park, will serve up the food for the day. The event will take place from 12-5pm.

Albany Taxi Charity - Established in 1972, a group of licensed taxi drivers arranged to take a group of inner city disadvantaged children to the seaside. It took a year to arrange the trip but by the following summer, 36 brightly decorated taxis left from Crispen House, Bermondsey in convoy to Margate. The day was such a success that it was decided to make the run an annual event. Initial meetings were held at the Walworth Road petrol station and later to premises in the Albany Road, hence providing the charity with its name. More drivers requested to join the run and now the charity takes several children and adults from various homes in South-East London. The taxi drivers supply themselves and their cab free of charge to support the outing.
