Eat Drink Margate
Saturday 07 September 2019 to
7th & 8th September 2019 10:00 - 18:00
Foodies, your dreams have come true at Dreamland…
Dreamland is holding its first ever food festival, with an array of foodie entertainment lined up including a farmers’ market, a parade of street vendors, beer and cider tent on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September.
Come along to try titbits and sip samples from excellent producers while host Natalia Ribbe, from Dreamland’s much-lauded Mediterrean restaurant Café Barletta, introduces an amazing line-up of local and London based chefs, wine experts and coffee connoisseurs. There will also be live music from The Britpop Collective on Saturday 7th September.
Welcome to Ice Cream-land! On Sunday 8th September, enjoy a mini-festival of ice cream featuring more than – wait for it – 32,000,000 different ice cream combinations. Are you brave enough to try the fennel ice cream? With chocolate covered crickets on top? Maybe you'll play it safe, with vanilla and strawberry sauce...
All proceeds from Ice Cream-land sales will be in support of the RNLI. Ice Cream-land is in partnership with Kent-based favourites, Taywell Ice Cream & Simply Ice Cream.
The festival will be open from 10am to 6pm each day and is free to enter. All talks take place on Saturday 7th September.
Saturday 7th September talks:
Love the planet!
It’s in the news, it’s on the radio and it’s in your supermarkets! How can we all live and work a bit more sustainability to help keep our amazing planet thriving. Join an amazing panel of experts including the Sustainable Restaurant Association and The Goods Shed to talk about ways YOU can help save our planet!
With speciality coffee roasters popping up all over, why is drinking their coffee better than your local chain. Come and hear from experts including Curve Roasters and Climpson & Sons about why we should all be the proud owners of keep cups!
Alex Kammerling & Paola Maggiulli - What to serve at the ultimate aperitivo session.
Italian food expert, Paola will talk you through the best Italian inspired snacks you can serve up during your own Aperitivo Hour! You’ll also learn all about the British Aperitif, Kamm & Sons and their iconic Brit Spritz - the perfect way to wet your whistle.
Sally Abe, Head Chef of the Harwood Arms.
Pheasant may not seem like the most obvious bird to buy, but it is actually a great alternative to chicken! We’ll be talking through how to make Pheasant Kiev! Join Michelin starred chef, Sally as she talks you through an old classic with a new bird.
Let’s talk about WINE!
Hear from local restauranteur and wine connoisseur, Kate de Syllas of Margate’s own Hantverk & Found & Big Naturals as we talk about what is in our wine and what’s the best stuff to drink :)
VEGGIES! What’s the best way to pick em, grow em, and serve em. Join Head Chef of Dreamland’s own Cafe Barletta, Cavan O'Keeffe (the one behind THOSE carrots) as he waxes lyrical about the beauty of vegetables.
