Visit ‘Save Yourselves’ the third of five commissions for the Mural-by-the-Sea project. Emma Gibson's artwork takes over Dreamland's large billboard, capturing a site that was originally the beginning of the vast 1,100-foot wooden jetty that brought Margate huge prosperity over 100 years, and features a horseshoe lifebuoy that reads ‘Save Yourselves’, serving as a metaphor for the fair-weather favour of seaside towns. 'Save Yourselves' will be in situ until Monday 16th July.
Mural-by-the-Sea will commission artworks from a series of artists from Margate and across the UK, with future pieces set to come from Spike Island in Bristol plus a nation-wide open call for the final artwork. The Mural-by-the-Sea is situated in the Dreamland amusement park, behind Hall By The Sea and will be available to view during Dreamland’s opening dates and hours between 25th May to 16th July. It is included with park entry. For more information visit muralbythesea.co.uk.
