About Sister Sledge

Sister Sledge have been performing together since the early 1970s, though it wasn't until 1979 breakthrough album ‘We Are Family' was released that the band started getting commercial and critical recognition. Double platinum success followed over their next several albums and the band had a huge UK number 1 in 1985 with ‘Frankie'. Other big hits include ‘Freak Out', ‘Chic', ‘He's The Greatest Dancer' and ‘Lost In Music.'

About George Clinton & Parliament / Funkadelic

George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic are unquestionably one of the most extraordinary, influential and renowned musical acts of the last century.

Drawing inspiration from Motown’s assembly line of sound, George Clinton put together a collective of over 50 musicians and recorded the ensemble as both Parliament and Funkadelic. While Funkadelic pursued band-format psychedelic rock, Parliament engaged in funk free-for-all, blending influences from the godfathers (James Brown and Sly Stone) with freaky costumes and themes inspired by the ’60s acid culture and science fiction.

As a producer, writer and performer, he twisted Soul and fused Funk with a sound inspired by late 60’s heroes like Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and Sly Stone. Presented with the highest accolades at the Grammys, MTV Music Video Awards, GMA Dove Awards and a lifetime achievement award from the Motown Alumni Association, it’s no surprise that Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Hear the music that took Funk to new heights with Clinton’s blend of Jazz, Rock, Pop and Gospel. A sound so unique it became easily identifiable and affectionately known as ‘P.funk’ – gathering complete recognition and acceptance as a true genre in itself.
