Meet Dave Cox and Amy Purfield-Clark. They’re getting married at Dreamland this month. We caught up bride-to-be Amy to find out a bit more about what they have planned for the big day…
Why did you choose to get married at Dreamland?
When we first got engaged we were all set to run off to Las Vegas, but as we announced our engagement, we had so many friends and family saying how they couldn’t wait to celebrate our big day that we started to look at venues in England. We really wanted a relaxed and fun venue, and after visiting many stately homes and finding them very formal and stuffy, Dave had the idea of Dreamland. We’ve had plenty of fun days at the park and have even taken photographs for my fashion blog in the penny arcade. It felt like the perfect setting for our wedding.
Which areas of Dreamland is your wedding going to include?
Our ceremony and wedding breakfast will be held in the grade 2* listed Ballroom. We’ll have prosecco and canapés served in the Treetop Bar, which has the most perfect view over-looking the park, and lastly, we’ll move into the roller disco and penny arcade for an evening of dancing.
What are the guests going to be eating and drinking?
Keeping with the trip to the seaside theme we’ve chosen fish and chips for our guests.
Will you be going for a ride around the Scenic Railway on the big day?
I might give the Scenic Railway a miss, as I’m not sure my dress will fit in the carts! I will however will be going for a spin in the Wedgwood Teacups and on the Gallopers!
What are you most looking forward to?
It’s got to be getting married with all of our friends and family being there to celebrate with us. We’re also really excited for the confetti shot with the Dreamland sign in the background and having our wedding photographs taken in the grounds of the park!
